The project, funded by the Province of Prato with ESF resources, developed an innovative training curriculum for managers of agritourism enterprises. The curriculum focuses on competences needed to exploit local cultural, historical, landscape and gastronomic resources, in order to enable participants to:

• better promote their own enterprises, to compete more effectively with neighbouring centres (e.g. Florence) that traditionally attracts the biggest part of the tourist streams;
• improve services, offering the tourist not only a quality accommodation but also guidance to the full appreciation of local environmental, historical, cultural and enogastronomic resources, steering him/her to a "slower" and "clever" form of vacation, in close contact with local attractions (nature, traditions, food, etc.) This allows agritourism managers to play at the same time the role of private entrepreneurs and territorial marketing operators, fostering the development of the district where the enterprise is located fully respecting its specificity.
